Economics is the study of how society uses its limited resources. Economics is a social science that deals with the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services. Economics is one of the departments in the Faculty of Social Sciences in Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University offers a complete and holistic study of the discipline of Economics through Distance mode. The Department of Economics was established in the year 1982 and has been offering a wide spectrum of specialised and common core courses at Under Graduate and Post Graduate level Programmes. In keeping with the spirit of the ‘Vision & Mission’ of the University, the Department has organized its academic programmes to meet the requirements of the diverse sections of the society.
