The Department is under Faculty of Social Science. Presently Dr. P. Padmanabha Rao is Adjunct Professor, and course coordinator. The Department is younger with the joining of young faculties very soon. The young Department is fully supported by the Osmania and Telangana Universities geography departments.

For taking Geography as one of the core subject in B.A course, a candidate is required to take one core course from Geography in the first and second semester comprising of 5credits each. In third and fourth semester a candidate is required to take one core course of 5 credits each. In the fifth and sixth semester, a candidate is required to take at least one Discipline Specific Elective (DSE) along with one Skill enhancement course (SEC) each for fifth and sixth semester.

BA Geography is a 3-years undergraduate course which spans across 6 semesters. It deals with earth and its different phenomena, features and inhabitants. Important subjects that are taught in this course are Physical Geography, Human Geography, Economic Geography and about Maps and diagrams. It also involves the study of climate, soil, vegetation.

This syllabus is designed to impart basic knowledge on geography as a spatial science and train the undergraduates to secure employment in the sectors of geospatial analysis, development and planning, mapping and surveying
