The Structured Query Language (SQL) skill course is a 45-day programme designed to provide learners with a strong foundation in database management and querying techniques using MySQL. The course is structured into four blocks covering twelve units, progressing from basic database operations to advanced querying and database programming.
The course begins with installation and setup of MySQL Server, along with an introduction to MySQL Shell and Workbench tools. Learners are then introduced to core SQL concepts including Data Definition Language (DDL) and Data Manipulation Language (DML) commands with practical case studies.
In the intermediate phase, the course focuses on nested queries, update and delete operations, and advanced query practices. Learners also explore integration aspects such as using MySQL with Excel. The advanced phase covers MySQL programming concepts including DCL, TCL, triggers, coding, forms, and reports. The course concludes with extensive practical exercises to reinforce real-world database skills. By the end of the programme, learners will be able to design, manage, and query databases effectively.
